FAQs

What is Hypnosis and will I lose control?

Hypnosis is a natural state of focused awareness and deep relaxation, not sleep or mind control. You remain fully conscious and in control throughout your session. Even if someone wanted to, they would be unable to make you do anything against your will (you are aware of everything that's going on, albeit in a highly relaxed, suggestible state).

How do I get started, and how much do sessions cost?

The first step is a free, no-obligation initial consultation so we can discuss your unique situation and make sure we're a good fit.

To give you a clear and transparent idea of my services before we chat, I've integrated a simple process into the booking:

  1. Book your free consultation. You'll be taken to a brief form to fill out.

  2. Receive pricing information. Once you submit the form, you will immediately receive an email detailing my hypnotherapy packages and pricing.

  3. Confirm your booking. I will then personally get in touch within two working days to confirm your Initial Consultation time.

This ensures that when we connect for our call, you already have all the information you need, and we can focus entirely on you and your goals.

What happens during the Initial Consultation?

We'll start by discussing background information relevant to Hypnotherapy. I'll then share a presentation with you on relevant parts of the brain and how the Hypnotherapy process works. We'll finish with time for you to ask any further questions you may have.

This consultation is very important, and will help determine whether hypnotherapy is the right fit for you. There's no obligation to continue onto the sessions if not, and your deposit will be refunded without issue.

Are sessions available online and in-person?

If so, which is better?

Yes, I offer both convenient online hypnotherapy sessions via video call and comfortable in-person sessions at the therapy centre in Gorseinon, Swansea.

Both methods are highly effective and the best choice depends on your personal preference and circumstances. I have not seen any differences in results between online and in-person sessions.

What happens when I fill in your Initial Consultation form?

Once you submit the form, you will immediately receive an email containing my Hypnotherapy pricing and details. I will then personally get in touch with you within two working days to arrange your free, no-obligation initial consultation.

If I can't get through to you, I will send a follow-up email and text message. I will not continue to try to contact you unless I hear back, as I respect your decision and know you may have changed your mind. Your data is secure and will only be used for this purpose.

How can I tell if hypnotherapy is right for me?

Hypnotherapy is often a great fit if you're motivated for change, open to new perspectives, and ready to work on transforming your thoughts and behaviors. The initial consultation is designed to help determine if it's right for your specific goals.

Important - Hypnotherapy will only work if you are motivated to change. It will not work 'by itself'!

What type of Hypnotherapy do you do?

I use a modern, collaborative, and solution-focused hypnotherapy approach. Instead of dwelling on the past, we work together to build the mindset you need for the future you want.

My methods are grounded in evidence-based principles, and I integrate elements of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to help you quickly re-wire limiting thought patterns and create lasting positive change.

What should I look for in a Hypnotherapist?

Hypnotherapy is not regulated in the UK, as well as many other parts of the world. Therefore, technically, anyone can call themselves a Hypnotherapist, even after a one-hour course! Because of this, it is important you educate yourself on what to look for.

What are the side effects of hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is generally very safe with no negative side effects. Most clients report feeling deeply relaxed, calm, and often more clear-headed after a session. The only 'side effects' I have ever seen in a very small percentage of clients is a slight dizziness, which goes away after a few minutes.

How does hypnotherapy compare to traditional therapy (CBT, counselling etc)?

Hypnotherapy often focuses on direct communication with the subconscious mind to create rapid, lasting change, potentially differing in approach and speed from traditional talk therapies like CBT or counselling.

What's the typical number of sessions required for anxiety?

It's impossible to say how many sessions it takes exactly for anxiety, as everyone is so different and anxiety can cover so many different things. However, the majority of my clients see considerable progress within the 5 sessions.
