When considering a new therapy, it's completely natural to have questions about the practical side of things. Here are some answers to common questions I get asked about Hypnotherapy.

What's the typical number of Hypnotherapy sessions required for anxiety?
The number of Hypnotherapy sessions required for anxiety can vary from person to person, as everyone's journey is unique. My goal is to get you to where you want to be as efficiently as possible. Some people notice big, positive changes after the first session, while others don't notice them clearly until the third, fourth or even fifth session.
This is why I offer a 5-session package. I'm not saying that every issue will be resolved after the 5 sessions (as that's impossible to promise!), but we should have seen some really positive improvements.
Following this, I sometimes have clients who want to book in another 5-sessions to keep things moving forward. But, I also have clients who are happy to go it alone after this. There's no need to decide right at the start... I recommend doing the 5 sessions, then seeing how you feel. You can either stop there and see how things go, or come back for another 5 sessions.
We'll regularly review your progress to ensure you're always moving in the right direction. The key is to focus on your progress, and the positive steps that you can take to move forward in your life.

Is this covered by my insurance or workplace?
This is an excellent question. While hypnotherapy is not yet universally covered, some private health insurance plans and workplace wellness programs do offer full or partial reimbursement.
I recommend that you contact your insurance provider or workplace directly to ask about their specific policies. When you call, you can ask if they cover complementary therapies or hypnotherapy for conditions like stress, anxiety, or phobias. They may require that the provider is a member of certain professional Hypnotherapy bodies - they should accept either the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) or the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AFSFH) - I am a member of both.
Often, you will have to pay for the therapy yourself, and then get it reimbursed from your workplace or insurance later on.
Can I pay in cash rather than by bank transfer or card payment?
No, I don't accept cash payments I'm afraid.
For security and to keep a clear record for both of us, I accept payments via bank transfer or card.
Bank transfer is the preferred method and doesn't incur any additional fees. Card payments are also an option but will include a small charge from the payment processor.
I'll send you all the details you need to complete the payment following your initial consultation.
Can I get a refund if Hypnotherapy doesn't work?
I am unable to offer refunds for sessions if the outcome is not what you expected. My fees are for the time, expertise, and guidance I provide during each session, not for a guaranteed result.
The success of hypnotherapy is a collaborative effort, and the results are reliant on several factors, including your willingness to engage with the process and your readiness to make a change.
This is why I offer a free initial consultation. It gives us a chance to talk about your goals and for you to decide whether you feel hypnotherapy is the right fit for you before you make a financial commitment. I do offer a refund for the Initial Consultation if you decide not to go ahead with the sessions.
I can't afford one-to-one sessions at the moment - do you offer any other options?
I understand that one-to-one sessions are a significant investment, and I am committed to making my services as accessible as possible.
Therefore, if one-to-one sessions are not an option for you at this time, I do offer group hypnotherapy sessions for a more affordable price. These are highly effective for more common issues like stress management and general confidence.
Please note that as these as Group sessions, I will not be able to work on specific individual issues.
Hypnotherapy sessions are included as part of my Hypnotherapy Hub, which also includes on-demand courses and live workshops. Click Here to find out more.
In addition, I offer a range of free resources through my newsletter, and hypnotherapy soundtracks you can use to help ease anxiety and improve your sleep. These can provide you with a great starting point on your journey.
